Hey there,
What a busy month!
Our grant project is going strong with three full-time staff
discovering the ins and outs of all the technical risk areas.
Craig says 'I'm worried, as it seems to be coming together quicker
than I thought!'; a long haul ahead though. Well done team!
When you call the
office you will hear a new voice on the end of the line. Lee
Jordan joined us in October as our full time 'Business
Administration Manager'. With extensive experience in office
management, she will take the load from many of us and ensure
things run smoothly at PTG Global.
This
month in Intuitive we have some interesting new papers: Craig
finally spells out exactly what Certified Usable and XPDesigner are,
something many of you have been wondering! We also discuss how you
can use the Management by Objectives strategy in
your next IT project.
Our latest employee of the
month is Clara. She is doing a great job at managing our boffins
on the XPDesigner project! You'll see her profile a bit later on
in the edition.
That's it for now!
Enjoy daylight saving!
Cheers,
James

New
Paper: Management by Objectives and IT projects
Author:
Craig Errey
Management
by Objectives is used by many managers to monitor people's
activity. However, the system requires that the outcomes of
the activities are measurable, which isn't true in the case
of many IT projects. In this paper, Craig Errey explains how
Management by Objectives can be applied to IT projects.

In my
freetime, I like to...
Spend time with
friends, watch movies and read. The last good movie I saw was Little
Miss Sunshine and the last good book was Everything Is
Illuminated by Jonathan Safran Foer.
I most admire...
I most admire
Nietzsche, because he constantly challenged his own ideas and
beliefs. And also Winnie the Pooh, because he never took himself
too seriously.
I hope to be / do /
achieve
I hope to be
happy and do interesting things.
What is the best thing
about working at PTG Global?
The people who
work here. They manage to be both very clever and lots of fun.

treasured item on your desk?
